News: New Jersey Civil Unions
As a new civil unions law took effect In New Jersey today, same-sex couples officially gained the same legal rights as married persons. States offering marriage or civil unions now include New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont and Massachusetts. New York governor Elliott Spitzer has also promised to push for gay marriage as part of his inaugural year agenda.

Profile: Tyler Hill
As promised ...
Falcon Studios star Tyler Hill first emerged in 1998 in a series of films that included In Deep, Miles to Go and the Stock movies, Sentenced and Released.
After an initial burst of activity, he faded from view for a number of years. His early work was memorable, though, especially Desert Hart, where he enthusiastically bottomed for thick muscle-man Jake Andrews.
In 2005, however, Mr. Hill came back to Falcon, where he materialized first in Up All Night and then Beefcake.

We've spent the last few days doing some heavy-lifting site programming to support the free Galleries feature that we will be debuting at some point in the future here. This has meant, alas, less time for blogging, but don't despair, we're still hard at work creating what we want to be one of the best gay adult sites on the Internet.

Joe. My. God.: Trouble in Bearland
It looks like there is a little trouble in big Bearland ...
Joe reports on allegations that hairy meet-up site Bear411 discriminates against non-bears (especially Asians) who try to get listed on its popular profile service.
We understand the desire to exclude the young, the skinny and the smooth from a site that is designed to cater to the bear community.
At the same time, it just seems to be a bad idea. The things you get by keeping folks out are never as great as what you get from bringing them in. Bear411 might sniff and turn up its nose at non-bears, but if it continues with this attitude, the whole site will eventually start to stink.
Joe, whom we see occasionally prowling the New York City bars with his own elite crew of hirsute hunks, and his readers seem of mixed opinions about the controversy. What do you think?

Via Homer, we just read this post from the folks at Box Turtle Bulletin.
Local news stations love to broadcast stories like this, which attempt to conflate the sexual activities of a few gay men with the moral standing of everyone in our community ... and at the same time use the public's fear of gay sexuality to garner higher ratings for themselves.
Blech.
We don't especially think that meeting other men for truly public sex is especially safe ... or respectful of other people. At the same time, however, how many so-called "public" cruising places are actually all that public? If two gay men have sex outdoors, did public sex happen?

Joe. My. God.: AIDS Memorial Quilt
New York City blogger Joe. My. God. has written an interesting post about the AIDS Memorial Quilt, the massive memorial quilting project that now comprises over 40,000 panels, each square remembering a loved one who died of AIDS.
Go read it.
One thing that we will never understand is the cavalier attitude that a lot of gay men have these days about HIV and about AIDS, especially when it comes to safer sex practices. And the porn world is not better -- and in fact, can be much worse -- when it comes to eroticizing "barebacking" and other activities that put gay men at a higher risk for acquiring HIV.
